THE REAL MEANING OF THE NUMBERS IN 2012
Is this really just a movie, showing the potential of what could happen at the end of the world as we know it?
Does the Mayan calendar hold any creditability regarding the end of the world and could what we see in the movie really happen?
Is this all about ‘waking us up’ to think about the saving our planet and its eco-systems? Do we have the power to make the necessary changes or have we lost our way in our quest to advance? What do we need to do and do we need to speak up?
These important questions are prompted by the highly anticipated action film, 2012, releasing on 4th December in cinemas nationwide: Centuries ago, the Maya left us their calendar, with a clear end date and all that it implies. Since then, astrologists have discovered it, numerologists have found patterns that predict it, geologists say the earth is overdue for it, and even government scientists cannot deny the cataclysm of epic proportions that awaits the earth in 2012. A prophecy that began with the Maya has now been well-chronicled, discussed, taken apart and examined. By 2012, we'll know we were warned.
According to Sandy Smith, a local numerologist from Sandy’s Numerology in Johannesburg, the film, 2012, does have a huge message for all around the world. She states that to get to 2012, if we are alive and live through this year, we will all be affected by the energy of this global year number.

The year 2012
The Number 5 is a devious and dishonest number, to calculate (2+0+1+2=5)…what does a 5 mean and how will it present itself in 2012…
The meaning of the global year number 2012 is huge and its negativity can be incalculable. This year brings with it power and potential danger, deceit and mismanagement (of humans towards our planet, within large companies such as banks, government and religious institutions). There will be news of take-overs, exposés, arrogance, misuse of power and racism, and even serial killers will rear their ugly heads.
On the positive, there is an energy related to education, gold, global import and export and the marriage and acceptance of all in our intensely diverse world.
Using Sandy’s Numerology system, one would never just look at a global year – while this does provide a large amount of general information for all on this planet, you can see a whole picture when you also have a day and month to work with and if there is a name then this must never be ignored as names are extremely important to be able to see the whole picture.
The day 21-12-2012
The date 21-12-2012 is really very interesting, although there is a bit of confusion as to whether this has been calculated correctly, in signifying the end of the world. This date appears at the end of the year and during that year there are numerous other days with the same numeric energies, in which case, why would 21-12-2012 have any significance?
There could be a pattern of things which started to develop in the years prior and at the beginning of 2012 it gains momentum and could culminate on the 21 December 2012 with something huge, that has a ripple effect around the world and yet it cold culminate on another day too.
Examples
The recent events 2008, 2009 of the global financial crisis starting on the New York Stock Exchange seemed to have been exposed in the beginning of the year, with the ripple effect still being felt around the world and it will continue into 2012.
The Tsunami on 26-12-2004 is another example of a ripple affect although it took hours not months. The numbers involved on this day are: 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 6, and 6, Power Number 33 and Outcome 11 and finally the Lower Outcome Number 2.
The positive and basic meaning of the day is: Partnership, working together, being internally driven by a concerned and caring leader, drawing on the collective from families to friends, colleagues and acquaintances into groups with a specific focus on growth, nurturing, designs, to food and health, including animals and plants, and in joining hands, set a trend following belief system that will be put out to the masses to uplift and heal.
The end of the Mayan calendar?
As quoted in the film, 2012, ‘the end is just the beginning’. The Mayan calendar is based on cycles, where the fourth cycle would end in the 13th b'ak'tun (a cycle of the Maya Long Count Calendar), and the 14th would then begin on 21-12-2012. (Interesting to note, the number 14 again adds to a 5).
Sandy does not believe that this is a catastrophic day yet it is interesting as this day will have cause and effect (positive or negative) on many people’s lives, but particularly those people who have the same numbers as this day in their names and birth date.
Maya inscriptions had predicted future events that would occur on dates that lie beyond 2012, beyond the end cycle of the 13th b'ak'tun* of the current era. In which case, are we accurately interpreting the end of the calendar and the end of the world? No we are not.
As South African’s it’s also good to remember that “it is always tomorrow in Australia”.
Sandy unfortunately suspects that certain Cults and religious groups could use the ending of the Mayan calendar scenario to motivate their ‘the end of the world’ sales pitch.
